Photography Sunday — My Escape

I love the beach.  No matter what problems or stresses that exist in my everyday life, they seem small when I get to a beach shoreline.  The subtle breeze, fresh sea air, and the picture perfect view makes me more relaxed and focused.  In fact, I get some of my best writing ideas when I’m strolling along the beach.  I always take the opportunity to view my world through a camera lens.  I like to think of it as my mini vacation for my mind.

In my opinion, some of the best waves and sunsets in California are found during fall and winter.  Surfers, paddle boarders, and kayakers can be seen with frequency, not to mention whales, dolphins, otters and harbor seals.

The dramatic calm before a storm…

And finally…

Enjoy your weekend and take some time to notice the beauty and inspiration that your surroundings have to offer.

Lovely pics, Jennifer! I love the sea as well. My favorite spot in the whole world is in Yachatz, Oregon. I’ve been known to sit there overlooking the surf for hours on end. Wonderful write!

  4. It truly is an inspirational place. I live three miles from a great Pacific Northwest beach. I get so caught up in life that I often forget to go, then when I go, I am amazed at how wonderful it makes me feel.

Jennifer, I too get caught up in not going to the beach and then I visit my Dad in NC and spend the day on a quiet island. Sitting in the sand staring at the waves and walking the shoreline looking for shells. I could do that all day, just emptying my head. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos!

  6. Nature is such a blessing. Once we let go enough to have it claim us as one of its own, we can experience such renewal. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to the beach. Thanks so much Jennifer for letting me come along.
